Creating Home: Considered pieces for a new chapter
We’re about to move to Paris, which will become our second home, especially as my wife is from there. As we prepare for that shift, I’ve been thinking a lot about the kinds of pieces we choose to live with, and what it really means to build a home again.
Looking back on the years we’ve spent in London, it’s made me realise how much value sits in objects that are both functional and considered. Pieces that quietly support daily rituals, whether that’s something as simple as a hand wash you return to every day, a stool that moves between rooms, or objects that gather people around a table.
There’s also a layer of family within this. Things for our daughter that feel thoughtful and lasting, not disposable. Pieces that can sit naturally within our space, but still carry a sense of warmth and play.
This curation is about carrying that mindset forward. Choosing objects that feel timeless, that reflect our personal style, and that can move with us into Paris without losing their meaning. A way of building something new, while staying connected to what we’ve already created.
